For more than 60 years, Ampco Pumps Company has been manufacturing quality pumps for sanitary, marine and industrial markets worldwide. Their core priority is delivering quality products, while providing exceptional customer service and competitive pricing. Through this commitment, they have become the preferred pump provider for some of the most recognized companies around the world.
Since 1995, when the new ownership took over, Ampco Pumps Company has been especially innovative in their approach. By shifting their focus and developing more product advantages for the sanitary pump industry, they have grown tremendously over the past 20 years.
Ampco Pumps Company is based out of Wisconsin, where they manufacture, assemble and re-assemble pumps. They also have a sales and assembly facility in Germany, and authorized repair providers throughout the United States.
Ampco’s mantra is “Redefining Engineered Excellence,” which speaks to their commitment to being a leader in the industry. By combining innovation with quality engineering, they are known for offering the most complete line of pumps, blenders and mixers in the industry.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Ampco Pumps offers centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, powder mixers and dry blenders. Their pumps can easily be interchanged with other manufacturer’s pumps, which means you will never have any difficulty in getting your Ampco pump up and running when you are ready for a parts upgrade. After all, some of the features that come standard on Ampco pumps would be considered upgrades by many of their competitors. These features include manufacturing all new PD pumps with a stainless steel gear case and integrating custom specifications for customers. In other words, they can build the pump that you need for your specific processes and applications.
Ampco Positive Displacement Pumps
Ampco’s ZP Series rotary piston pumps and AL Series rotary lobe pumps offer the best values in the industry. They are EHEDG certified and in conformance with 3A sanitary standards.
Ampco’s ZP1 and ZP2 pumps are 100% interchangeable with competing models. The innovative patent-pending ZP3 front-loading seal design offers superior CIP ability with much easier maintenance. The patent-pending ZP1+ is designed so that O-rings are located in the front of the body, making the sleeve a mating part of the rotor. This means O-rings can be replaced more easily. You won’t have to disconnect the pump from the piping system.
AL Series pumps offer superior CIP ability and a front-loading seal design for ease of maintenance. They are a cost-effective alternative in many different industrial applications.
Ampco Sanitary Centrifugal Pumps
Ampco offers a complete line of sanitary centrifugal pumps. Each are in conformance with 3A sanitary standards and are built for optimal performance. The LC, LD, LF, LH and SP Series pumps are high efficiency and designed to meet any sanitary centrifugal pump applications. Most of Ampco’s L Series pumps are interchangeable with competing brands, both hydraulically and dimensionally.
AC and AC+ pumps are a cost-effective option for most sanitary applications. In addition, Ampco’s AC+ models incorporate an improved shaft design for longer seal life.
Ampco Marine/Industrial Centrifugal Pumps
Ampco’s pumps are widely used for marine applications requiring resistance to seawater corrosion and other hard elements that can affect performance. They offer the heavy duty Z Series with flanged connections, the K Series with NPT threaded connections and the R Series, which is self priming.
All models are available from stock in nickel, aluminum bronze and 316 stainless steel. Z Series pumps are also stocked in Duplex 2205 stainless steel. Capacities range from 5 GPM to 3000 GPM, and all Z, K and R Series pumps have ABS design approval.
For a more cost-effective alternative in less-corrosive applications, you can consider Ampco’s IC+ Series pumps.
Remanufactured Pumps
Sometimes, it makes more sense to remanufacture your pump rather than replacing it entirely with a new model. It will extend the life of your existing pump and also save you money.
Ampco’s ZP style remanufacturing program has earned an excellent reputation for quality and fast delivery. They introduced the program in 2010 and built their remanufacturing facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This centralized location minimizes shipping time and expense for customers. Ampco offers a two-week turnaround, from order to completion. This means less downtime for your equipment.
Remanufacturing will restore your ZP style pump (all models from the 06 to the 320) to its original performance and efficiency. The cost savings are significant. Remanufactured pumps also include all standard Ampco upgrades (except a stainless steel gear case), are performance tested before shipment and carry a full one-year factory warranty.
Here are the steps Ampco takes with each remanufactured pump, as well as the standard upgrades included:
- Gear case is sandblasted and powder coated
- Pump body and cover are re-machined to bring back original tolerances and efficiency
- New oversized Alloy 88 rotors
- 17-4ph shafts
- Stainless steel bearing retainers
- Helical gears
- Anti-microbial lube
- Gasketed clean-out plubs
- Full performance test of completed pump
