Clean Water Technology is one of the premier names in wastewater treatment. They are dedicated to improving technology and developing innovative products for flotation, flocculation and bio-degradation.
Clean Water Technology created the GEM (Gas Energy Mixing) System, which is the most advanced flotation and flocculation system available. In addition, they offer many solutions for primary treatment, screens, bio-degradation and membrane systems. CWT systems are known for efficiency while taking up a smaller footprint than most technologies available. Their systems are easy to use, improve contaminant removal rates and generate more beneficial byproducts. They are also affordable.
Clean Water Technology holds more than 20 patents in flocculation, flotation, gas entrainment, mixing, de-watering, liquid/solid separation, metering, controls and accessories. They have offices in Los Angeles, CA, Mexico and South America, where they distribute products all around the world.
History
Clean Water Technology was founded initially in 1993. Their goal was to develop new water and wastewater technologies to improve upon the latest engineering developments in the field. Over the years, they evolved their systems to remove suspended contaminants from wastewater streams. As further innovations were developed, the company continued to grow and expand its products and services.
CWT Services
Clean Water Technology utilizes state-of-the-art chemicals and mechanical systems to solve any wastewater problem. They always keep in mind what your needs are and how your facility works in order to develop the right solutions for optimal performance. They provide training and technical support so that your staff can handle all the operations and maintenance requirements. That said, most of CTW’s systems require very little—if any—maintenance, which is another great advantage.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Clean Water Technology develops products with efficiency, ease of use, sustainability and quality as the priorities. The result is better wastewater treatment with fewer biosolids and byproducts. In addition, they help lower your operating expenses. All products are manufactured with precision fabrication, utilizing high-test materials such as stainless steel, surfacing carbon steel and steel alloys of varying grades. The mechanical components are selected from proven suppliers, while all electronics are controlled in-house by CWT’s experienced electrical department to meet each client’s exacting specifications.
GEM Systems
Clean Water Technology created the Gas Energy Mixing (GEM) System as the ultimate flocculation and flotation unit. It replaces traditional DAF treatment systems by handling more contaminant loading and producing drier solids. It also offers a much smaller footprint than all other DAF systems.
The GEM System is adaptable to changes in flow and uses fewer chemicals than common DAF systems. Rather than the traditional “collision method” for flotation, the GEM System entrains air into the floc/sludge structure. Clean Water Technology refers to this as the “floc seeding method,” which is a complex multi-step process that takes the waste stream through the GEM System and ultimately distributes the clean water and buoyant flocs into the flotation tank.
Through this innovative process, the following benefits are achieved:
- Drier Sludge
- Superior Aeration
- Elimination of Re-circulation Loops and Air Grids
- Easier Operation
- Flow and Contaminant Loading Freedom
- No Floc Carryover or Sedimentation
- Cost Effectiveness
- Versatility
The GEM System also uses an advanced Liquid Static Gas Mixer (LSGM) technology. It entrains air and mixes chemicals with a stainless canister that contains a specialized cartridge insert. This enables users to utilize the highest grade water treatment polymers. It allows for the proper mixing energy to be applied to each chemical used in the water treatment process. It also results in increased contaminant removal rates.
Membrane Bio-Reactors
Many municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications can utilize one of Clean Water Technology’s innovated membrane bio-reactors. In this system, an integrated and immersed membrane is paired with a single-sludge, aerobic biological treatment process to produce exceptional results.
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor
This unit helps achieve higher rates of bio-degradation by pairing an aerated wastewater treatment process with thousands of polyethylene biofilm carriers working in mixed motion. It is compact and easy to transport and is ideal for municipal sewage or industrial streams where minimal sludge is generated.
Anaerobic Reactors
An anaerobic reactor uses a unique process to transform some of the organic material found in sludge into gases. It does this by operating in the absence of oxygen. Ultimately, you have fewer solids in your wastewater and pathogenic organisms are also eliminated.
Screen Filtration
Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants can utilize CWT’s coarse solid screens for pre-treatment and removing solids from wastewater.
Membrane Systems (UF/NF/RO)
Clean Water Technology offers membrane systems that you can use for special applications, where a finer degree of contaminant removal is needed.
