Company History
The roots of GIW trace back to 1891, when a foundry and machine shop began operations that would evolve into GIW’s founding in slurry pump manufacturing. Over time, GIW became recognized for innovation in heavy-duty slurry pumping for mining, dredging and mineral processing operations.
By the mid-20th century, GIW had established itself firmly in the U.S. and global mining circles. In 1988, KSB acquired GIW and integrated it into its global pump and valve operations. Under KSB’s ownership, GIW-branded slurry pump technology has continued to evolve. They have developed new hydraulics, improved wear materials, expanded aftermarket and services capability, and tighter integration with KSB’s global product families.
