There are many components that make FLSmidth ODS Pumps the superior pumps they are within the industry. To get an idea of what exactly goes into designing, building, and manufacturing a FLSmidth ODS pump, check out this list of superior quality and well-crafted components that go into each one.
- Variable Timer: The variable timer is what controls the solenoid valve to operate at a set number of pumping cycles per minute. The timer can be set to automate the pace control of the system. Protective fiberglass and a hinged cover protect the timer from tough applications. It comes in multiple designs and variations and can accommodate remote or linear timers.
- Pump Cover: Created and manufactured using cast iron, the pump cover includes a port for the air connection and lifting lugs to make installation a breeze. The cover is bolted to the casing and is reinforced with radial ribs and have been designed to the specs of the ASME pressure vessel code. It can handle an operating pressure of up to 100 PSI.
- Diaphragm: Flexible Nordel® is used to create the diaphragm so that it can easily withstand the various requirements placed upon the component. It has a long service life thanks to the uniformity and exact construction of the Dorr-Oliver design, and it also contains nylon fabric within to allow the life of the unit to last, even with repeated flexure.
- Pump Casing: The pump casing is made of cast iron, but it is also optionally lined with Nordel® to create a longer lasting product. The unique radially located grooves provide protection against any solids remaining in the pump’s diaphragm.
- Base Tee: Also made of cast iron with option Nordel® lining, the base tee connects the pump casing to the check valves. It dually functions as an equipment support base for the pump assembly.
- Control Valve: The control valve is a three-way valve that is Solenoid operated. This component allows for the flow of compressed air through the diaphragm to make the diaphragm move.
- Check Valves: Check valves are available in multiple constructions to meet any and all process requirements.
- Air Chamber: It reduces or eliminates water hammer, pulsations, and noise in applications with high heads.
- Regulator: Controls and monitors the air pressure to create ideal operating conditions.
- Muffler: Reduces the noise generated from outrushing air to less than 85 DBA at 5’ on the “A” scale.
